🏐 Workflow

The typical workflow is:

• Import Seeds — Upload your event XLSX or paste seed data directly.
• Set up Divisions — Create divisions, set number of pools and teams-per-pool.
• Generate Grid — Click Generate Seeding on the Seeding Grid tab to see pool assignments.
• Print or Export — Use Print for paper copies or Export CSV for spreadsheet use.

📥 XLSX Import

Click Import XLSX on the Seed List tab and drop your event XLSX file. The app scans all sheets and auto-selects the one that looks like seed data:

• Column A: sequential integers starting at 1 (seed numbers)
• Column B: team names
• Column C: optional USAV IDs (e.g. G18SUNSH1SC)

You can override the auto-selected sheet by clicking a different sheet tab in the import dialog.

🔢 Snake Seeding

Teams within a division are distributed into pools using snake (serpentine) seeding:

Each pool ends up with one top seed, one bottom seed, and balanced middle seeds.

🏟 Divisions & Pools

• Each division has a number of pools (integer) and a teams per pool setting (3–6).
• Pool headers in the seeding grid display as POOL 1, POOL 2, etc.
• Capacity = pools × teams per pool. The card shows whether the assigned team count matches.
• Division colors give each division a distinct accent in the cards and grid.

💾 Save & Load

Use 💾 Save to download a JSON file with all data. Use 📂 Load to restore a saved file. The app also auto-saves to browser localStorage whenever data changes — if autosaved data is found on next open, a restore banner appears.

⌨ Keyboard

• Esc — Close any open modal
• Seed numbers are editable inline on the Seed List tab (click to edit)
• Team names are inline-editable in the same row
